Wheelchair, Ocean…Now That’s Water Therapy!

Being in a wheelchair can limit your activities.  However, I recently saw a wheelchair sitting alone on the beach while the waves danced through it.  After reviewing the ocean and the beach, I found the reason why. 

The wheelchair bound person was in the ocean water with two other able-bodied individuals.  The two were helping her to move her limbs in the water.  Wow!  I thought this was great!

Not only did the two individuals assist in providing some exercise to this woman, they also provided a sense of freedom and pure joy to her.  She was ecstatic to be in the ocean!

This had me thinking.  The next time you are feeling down about your limitations due to some form of arthritis, try to think outside of the box.  There may just be a way to overcome them, even if it is only temporary!
